EASTERTIDE
Christians have historically marked out fifty days to celebrate Easter…
This season of Eastertide serves as a reminder of the great marriage feast and celebration that we will experience with Jesus in eternity (Rev. 19:6-9).
The season of Eastertide is a celebratory season, beginning with Easter Week (which extends the celebration of Easter Sunday) and continuing for around seven weeks—ten days longer than Lent—until the church celebrates Pentecost and Trinity Sunday and moves into the next season of Ordinary Time.
Eastertide offers us a time to continue to reflect on the resurrection of Jesus and all that it means for the church and creation.
Many Christians will intentionally include worship music, feasting, art, candles, meals with friends, decorating the house with plants and flowers, daily Scripture readings, prayers, and other forms of celebration into their weekly rhythms to help lean into this season. He has risen!
